On the Bright Side

I realized my last few posts have been pretty negative so I feel like I need to counteract all that negativeness with some positive things. Here are some happy things that have happened recently:

- My mom made amazing oatmeal raisin cookies and shared.

- Steven's daddy taught him to raise his sippy and bump our drinks- "cheers!"

- Steven will also now fold his arms during our dinner prayers- even though his eyes are open and he's giggling it's still a step in the right direction (don't ask me how I know his eyes are open)

- A tantrum free dinner at IHOP with Tyler and Steven- mmmm strawberry crepes...

- Bedtime stories with Steven- he's starting to say the names of the pictures and it's super cute.

- Finally having curtains hung in my living room (I bought them this summer)

- Going through Steven's old clothes- oh so little. Makes me excited!

- My students' reactions to a tale of Steven's naughtiness. They thought his bath time antics were hilarious and some of their following questions were also quite funny (Does he want my toys? Maybe he was being naughty cause he wants new toys).

- One of my students told me that my belly was in the way of the white board- funny!

- The reassuring stretching and poking of little Benjamin

- Finding out that some of my student's are actually smarter then the sixth grade students next door to me (I had to sub. for the sixth graders for an hour and these kids couldn't even fold a paper into thirds- my first graders can do that!)

Amidst the unhappy times of life, thank heavens there are still those happy moments that make life worthwhile.
